The handover of the 12-ton chiller and 10-ton cold storage grant to Perumda Tunas was carried out at the end of 2022. Arief Prasetyo Adi, ST, MT emphasized that the use of Chilling and coldstorage can be further optimized because the aim is to stabilize prices in the market when there is a price increase."Cold storage This is useful so that we can store (food ingredients). Keep our stock there. So if we take out goods later from coldstorage, and there must be stock what level is it?" he explained.
Responding to this, the President Director of Perumda Tunas, Dodot Tri Widodo, SE, MM said that the cold storage and chiller grant from Bapanas had been utilized even though it was not optimal. "This is used when prices go down. Indeed, for Chilling "Earlier, it was seen that the utilization was still not optimal because we were waiting for the price of vegetables to go down first. If the price is high, there is no point in us storing it," continued Dodot.
Dodot said that coldstorage and Chilling used to store food when prices in the market fall. Then when prices rise, the food will be sold to the public to balance prices so they are not too high or distributed through the Public Service Obligation (PSO) program.
Perumda Tunas itself also has coldstorage capacity of 120 tons. "Bapanas appreciates that our cold storage has a large capacity. We join operations with private partners, the capacity is much larger than that provided by Bapanas and the function is the same for storing," he said.
Furthermore, Dodot revealed that currently his party is still purchasing chilies from farmers, because the price is currently falling. "It just so happens that today the price of chilies is falling, so we are buying from farmers to be stored there. In less than a month the price should have gone up again.
