Violating Regional Regulations, Officers Demolish Illegal Buildings

Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – Joint officers from the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), TNI-Polri and the Malang City Environmental Service (DLH) dismantled illegal buildings on Jalan Mayjen Sungkono, Friday (5/5/2023). These buildings violate Malang City Regional Regulation (Perda) Number 2 of 2012 concerning Public Order and the Environment.

Joint officers from the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), TNI-Polri and the Malang City Environmental Service (DLH) dismantled illegal buildings.

Head of Public Order and Security Division (Kabid Trantibum) of Malang City Satpol PP Rahmat Hidayat after carrying out the clean-up revealed that initially some time ago there was information or complaints on Malang City Government social media regarding illegal buildings that disturbed the beauty of the city.

Even the building on the shoulder of the road also interferes with the irrigation channel. As a follow-up, officers visited the location of the building inhabited by a homeless person. The result was an agreement with officers from the Malang City Satpol PP, the building would be demolished later.

From this agreement, Rahmat said the homeless were given a maximum tolerance of one week. However, after one week it had not been dismantled, so the joint officers were forced to dismantle the semi-permanent building.

"Because the homeless person violated the agreement, we carried out the demolition today and the officers took the homeless person to the P3AP2KB Social Service Office," he explained. (say/yon)
