Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – The road damage at Pasar Induk Gadang (PIG) which was last repaired in 2021 did not escape the attention of the Malang City Government (Pemkot). Incidental repair steps will also be carried out next week.
This was stated by the Head of the Public Works, Spatial Planning, Housing and Residential Areas Agency (DPUPRPKP) of Malang City, Drs. R. Dandung Julhardjanto, MT while attending the official activities of the Mayor of Malang, Sunday (7/5/2023).
"We have conveyed the plan to handle (the Gadang market road). Temporary repairs are planned to start in the next one or two weeks, while waiting for the completion in other places first," explained Dandung.
Dandung said that the overall construction of Jalan Gadang has also been proposed for implementation in the 2024 budget year. This also takes into account the need for repair funds and the duration of the repair time required.
"Yes, it will be fully (handled) in 2024. The Mayor has also given a note of emphasis during the discussion of the work plan. The plan is that we will not asphalt it but are considering the casting method. The drainage is also being considered at the same time. So it does take money and time to work on it," he explained.
The casting method is expected to make the condition of the road, which is often crossed by heavy vehicles and is affected by extreme weather that often occurs in Malang City, more durable.
As for 2023, in addition to dozens of roads that have undergone incidental repairs, his party will soon also begin comprehensive handling of around 70 roads and bridges. These include Jl. Ki Ageng Gribig, Jl. Raya Langsep, Jl. Veteran-Bandung, Jl. Mayjen Sungkono, Jl. S. Supriadi and Jl. Raya Tebo.
Dandung hopes that the road construction agenda in Malang City, including in the Gadang Main Market, will also be supported by stakeholders so that its implementation is conducive.
"Of course it will take time, so there is potential for related activities. Hopefully it is good, we work together, order and awareness," he concluded. (ndu/yon)
