The statement was delivered by Malang Deputy Mayor Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko after attending a live screening of the 2023 Indonesian Digital Financial Economy Festival (FEKDI) at the Santika Hotel, Monday (8/5/2023).

He added that the regional apparatus in the Malang City Government environment has also implemented it, including the Malang City Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda). In addition, the implementation of digital transactions has also been implemented in several markets in Malang City, one of which is the Oro-Oro Dowo Market.

What needs to be done now is how to educate the public to be more familiar with the digital economy. Given its development, the digital economy has become a phenomenon that has a very strategic role in the development of the global economy.

The Deputy Mayor of Malang, who is familiarly called Bung Edi, on this occasion said that his party appreciated the existence of FEKDI 2023.

“What's interesting today is launching Domestic Credit Card by the Government. We want to know more deeply on which side is prioritized or prioritized,” explained Bung Edi.

According to him, the emergence of this Domestic Credit Card is a good step, so that every transaction becomes more transparent, efficient and measurable.

Meanwhile, Deputy Head of Payment System Representative of Bank Indonesia Malang, Dedy Prasetyo, said FEKDI 2023 is an effort by the Government together with Bank Indonesia to place the digital financial economy. The hope for the future is that the financial ecosystem in Indonesia can continue to develop in all aspects of life.

"The goal is to expand digital economic finance in Indonesia, as conveyed by the Governor of BI regarding the concept initiated by the Indonesian Government together with Bank Indonesia," explained Dedy.

The digital financial economic system, said Dedy, has become an important element in at least the last four years, including during the Covid-19 pandemic.

He added that in the future the digital economy will continue to play a role as one of the growth engines. As conveyed by the President of Indonesia, Indonesia has made a significant contribution to the digital economy in Southeast Asia, which is 40 percent of the digital economy in Southeast Asia. "That is a fairly large number, we must optimize it together in the development of the digital economy in the country," explained Dedy. (cah/yon)
