Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The number of participants in the Computer-Based Written Examination (UTBK) at Brawijaya University (UB) Malang increased by 12,7 percent or 21.960 participants compared to 2022 which only reached 19.487 participants.

UB Malang became the organizer of UTBK for the first wave on May 8-14, 2023. Today the exam began nationally in 74 UTBK centers. Universitas Brawijaya (UB), which is one of the UTBK organizer centers, has prepared 1.580 computers and 61 rooms in 16 locations.
UB Malang Chancellor Prof. Widodo, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D.Med.Sc along with the leadership team also reviewed the implementation of UTBK (Computer-Based Written Exam) on the first day, Monday (8/5/2023).
The locations visited were the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Computer Science, Faculty of Agricultural Technology and Faculty of Economics and Business. In front of the media crew, the UM Chancellor expressed his hope that the implementation of UTBK could run smoothly so that good talents who are qualified to become students could be caught.
The review of UTBK locations was carried out together with representatives of the SNPMB (National Selection for New Student Admissions) Committee Dr. Tri Budi Santoso, ST, MT, as Deputy Coordinator 1 for Technology and Information Systems. Tri Budi conducted an independent review before meeting with UB.
"UB has prepared thoroughly, starting from the entrance we ask very easily to get information. Before entering there is a transit room, it is very neat, comfortable. More importantly, it is calming for the participants," said the lecturer at the Surabaya State Electronic Polytechnic.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs of UB Malang, Prof. Dr. Imam Santoso, MP, said that the implementation of UTBK this time still enforces health protocols according to national provisions. "Health protocols are still enforced, although not as strict as last year. Because during the past two weeks there has been an increase in COVID-19 cases," he explained.
"We still want to ensure that participants enter in a healthy condition by using a thermal gun and a temperature detector monitor. But otherwise we use national health protocol provisions," concluded Imam. (say/yon)
