Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) responded to residents' aspirations regarding road traffic by focusing on handling congestion points. This was seen during the Plenary Meeting of the Malang City DPRD with the agenda of delivering the explanation of the Mayor of Malang regarding the Draft Regional Regulation (Ranperda) on Traffic and Road Transportation in the Plenary Meeting Room of the Malang City DPRD, Wednesday (10/5/2023).
The explanation from the Mayor of Malang representing the Mayor of Malang stated that the rapid development of Malang City is a challenge for Malang City, especially in city planning.
The man who is familiarly called Bung Edi also mentioned that the Traffic Draft Regional Regulation was made as an answer to unravel the problems currently being experienced. "In principle, this regulation is to answer the challenges we face in Malang City in relation to the number of vehicles that have an impact on congestion," he said.
In addition, Bung Edi said that in resolving this problem, participation from various parties is needed. Therefore, this draft regional regulation also regulates the existence of a Traffic Forum as a forum for citizen participation in conveying concepts, planning, and ideas related to traffic and road transportation.
"That's why a Traffic Forum is held which is regulated in the regional regulation related to the implementation of traffic and road transportation, including regulations that regulate if there are actions if there are violations on the road, as well as legal certainty for anyone using public transportation and the vehicle must follow the applicable rules," he explained.
Furthermore, Bung Edi hopes that this draft regional regulation can be discussed immediately by the Malang City DPRD and implemented immediately so that it can immediately answer what has been a concern for the community. "Hopefully in the near future this regional regulation can be discussed immediately in the DPRD, and can be enacted immediately for immediate implementation," he concluded. (iu/yon)
