Sutiaji, attended the Halalbihalal and General Recitation of the Sabilurrosyad Islamic Boarding School Family as well as the haul of KH Ahmad Noer, KH Mustamar, and KH Murtadho Amin at the Sabilurrosyad Gasek Islamic Boarding School in Malang City, Thursday (11/5/2023).
Representing all levels of the Malang City Government (Pemkot), Sutiaji on this occasion conveyed his apologies and expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the participation and contribution of all elements of society.
The Mayor of Malang advised the congregation present to continue to maintain the conduciveness of Malang City, including in 2023 ahead of the Simultaneous General Elections (Pemilu) in 2024.
The bespectacled man said that democracy is only a tool, method or process, while the goal is to create a prosperous, just and prosperous society, so that Indonesia becomes a country that is baldatun thayyibatun wa rabbun ghofur.
For that reason, in the assembly that was held at the place of KH Marzuki Mustamar, Sutiaji revealed that in this assembly, he always echoed and invited everyone to love the Republic of Indonesia, love peace, love togetherness, and respect brotherhood. "So that is what must be strengthened," said the number one person in the Malang City Government.
Furthermore, the Mayor of Malang said that differences of opinion are inevitable, and that separation is the beginning of destruction.
"Therefore, on behalf of the Malang City Government and representing all levels of Forkopimda in Malang Raya, let us create safe and peaceful conditions. Once again, democracy is a tool, not a goal. Don't let the tool harm the noble goal," concluded Sutiaji. (cah/yon)
