Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – After waiting for quite a long time, the main road in Pasar Induk Gadang was finally repaired. Officers from the Public Works, Spatial Planning, Housing and Settlement Areas Agency (DPUPRPKP) of Malang City carried out patching on the road section of about 300 meters, Saturday (13/5/2023).
This road patching uses several heavy equipment so the results are very good. The work was completed in one day so as not to disrupt trading activities in the market. Given the bustling and dense activity in Pasar Gadang is at night.
Head of DPUPRPKP Malang City, Dandung Djulharijanto when met, Saturday (13/05/2023), said that one of the triggers for the road being easily damaged was waste water and garbage that had been inundating the road for some time.
The bespectacled man added that the water channel actually exists but is not functioning because it is clogged by garbage. Therefore, he asked traders to no longer throw garbage carelessly, especially into the water channel.
Regarding the road repair, Dandung said that in 2024, a total repair will be carried out in several road spaces in Pasar Induk Gadang. The DPUPRPKP will not asphalt but will use concrete so that the road quality is better and stronger.
"Including the road that is being repaired today will also be cast. This road repair will not only provide convenience for traders, but also for the community or road users in general," explained Dandung.
He further said, if later the casting is not possible, then his party will use another method, but the quality of the road is the same as casting. If cast, to wait for it to dry for up to three weeks. "This will disrupt the activities of traders. But we will see later, and if the traders agree then we will do it," he explained. (say/yon)
