Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) together with joint officers sealed and temporarily closed an inn and hotel in the Lowokwaru Village area, Monday (22/5/2023). This step was taken because the two places were suspected of being used as online prostitution venues and their permits were not in accordance with their intended use.
This was conveyed by the Head of Public Order and Security (Kabid KKU) of Malang City Satpol PP, Rahmat Hidayat after the operation. Regarding this action, Rahmat said that previously officers had carried out three operations after receiving public complaints regarding indications of online prostitution.
As a result, the complaint from the public was proven and when the individuals caught in this operation were tried by the Malang City District Court, it was decided to give a minor criminal sanction (tipiring). "In addition, these two places also have problems with the permits they have, namely not in accordance with their designation and not being extended," he explained.
"In this case, we also pay attention to several things. One is the existence of a report of the results of the agreement between the owner or manager and the residents that they will close operations. So we emphasize that agreement. Second, it is related to the court's decision on minor crimes," explained Rahmat.
This temporary closure, he explained, is not time-limited and is awaiting further information from the relevant regional apparatus. Such as the Disnaker PMPTSP and the Malang City Environmental Service. Both of these places are also threatened with having their permits revoked or being closed forever if there is no good faith from the management.
"The sealing is also a response to the concerns, demands and rejection of the existence of the two places by the community," concluded Rahmat. (say/yon)
