Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Education and Culture Office (Disdikbud) held the National Student Arts Festival and Competition (FLS2N) for junior high school level in Malang City at SMPN 12 Malang City, Tuesday (23/5/2023). This activity is one of the efforts to foster and improve student achievement in the field of arts and culture.
Through FLS2N SMP, it is expected to foster a sense of love for art so that it will provide inspiration to preserve Indonesian art and protect the nation's cultural wealth. In addition, it is also a place to explore students' potential in art and provide motivation to actualize themselves and compete healthily.
There are dozens of schools that participate as participants in this event, both public and private junior high schools in Malang City.
Head of Elementary Education Development Division of Malang City Education and Culture Office, Drs. Dodik Teguh Pribadi, M.Pd motivated the participants to show their best potential, in accordance with the theme of FLS2N 2023 'Independence to Achieve, Inspiring Art Talent'.
"Everyone must be enthusiastic to fight to be the best, namely the first winner at the city level. Later, whoever becomes the first winner will represent Malang City at the provincial level FLS2N," he said motivatingly.
Dodik hopes that FLS2N participants can also show their potential to the public. "Even if you don't win, don't be discouraged. Keep developing your potential. There are still many opportunities, such as being able to perform at the Malang Arts Building on Jalan Nusakambangan," he said.
There are six branches of art competed in the FLS2N junior high school level, namely creative dance, traditional music creativity, music ensemble, solo singing, illustration, and pantomime. After going through tight competition, the winner of the FLS2N Malang City Level and later representing at the East Java Provincial level has been announced.
The winners for each art category were SMP Negeri 4 Malang City for creative dance, traditional music creativity, illustration, and pantomime. Meanwhile, the solo singing category was won by SMP Charis, while SMP Negeri 3 Malang City was chosen as the best in the music ensemble category. (ari/yon)
