Malang (malangkota.go.id) – University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) held its 108th graduation for vocational, undergraduate and postgraduate programs at DOME UMM, Tuesday (23/5/2023). In this graduation, UMM Chancellor Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd said that competition in various fields is currently very high.
Therefore, it is conveyed that competent human resources are needed, have expertise, are persistent and have morals. With a number of these capitals, the human resources owned will be able to compete in the global market and even win the competition.
A similar statement was also conveyed by the Head of the Malang City Education and Culture Office (Disdikbud), Suwarjana when attending the graduation ceremony. According to him, if our human resources are weak and unable to compete, then it is not impossible that we will become spectators in our own country.
Therefore, he advised to prepare human resources early, for example since children enter kindergarten. In this case, the role of parents is very decisive, where and what their children will be in the future.
In this regard, Suwarjana conveyed the importance of strengthening education and character while children are in school. "Technology is increasingly advanced, so make good use of it. There is no reason for someone not to be smart because anything is easy to get nowadays," he said.
Furthermore, Suwarjana said, in 2045 Indonesia will get a demographic bonus, where the population will be dominated by young people. So if we do not prepare human resources from now on, then we will be eliminated. "Superior and competitive human resources are one of the keys to winning the competition," he concluded. (say/yon)
