Creative Film Industry Continues to Thrive in Malang City

Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Through the National Unity and Politics Agency (Bakesbangpol), the Malang City Government (Pemkot) held the 2023 Pelangi Nusantara Short Film Competition with the theme 'Independent, Resilient and Sustainable. The competition categories are divided into two, namely students and students/general.

The Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, directly symbolically presented the prizes to the winners at the Malang Creative Center (MCC) building.

From 28 participants, four winners were finally selected from each category. On this occasion, the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, directly presented the prizes to the winners at the Malang Creative Center (MCC) building in Malang City, Monday night (22/5/2023).

The Mayor of Malang said that this is one proof that the creative industry in the film industry, especially in Malang City, continues to thrive. "The film creators participating in this competition are very good, so that in the future many quality films will be born," said the bespectacled man.

The existence of the MCC building that accommodates 17 sub-sectors of the creative economy, he said, must continue to be maximized. Moreover, currently the film world is on the track and in the future certainly has broad prospects.

"As a form of promotion, films made by our children will be shown in cinemas in this city a few minutes before the main film is shown," explained the number one person in the Malang City Government.

He further said that everyone contributed and committed to making Malang City a fiscally independent city, economically independent. "There is economic resilience, character resilience and we have a high commitment. Whatever is good, we must continue," he said.

From this film work, Sutiaji said it will also promote the beauty and various potentials in Malang City. Such as the existence of the Kayutangan Heritage tourist destination, Kampung Warna Warni, and bakso as its signature food.

"From all of that, it will have an impact on boosting the community's economy and local revenue. We from the Malang City Government will certainly support what are these creative ideas," he concluded. (say/yon)
