Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – Ahead of the 2024 political contest, the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) within the Malang City Government (Pemkot) is equipped with an understanding of ASN neutrality that must be adhered to in order to maintain conduciveness in welcoming the political year. To socialize this, the Malang City Government held a Socialization of ASN Discipline Enforcement and Neutrality Ahead of the 2024 Political Contest at the Grand Mercure Malang Mirama Hotel, Tuesday (23/5/2023).
The Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji in his speech emphasized that ASN must maintain neutrality. In fact, the Malang City Government has issued a Circular Letter of the Mayor of Malang Number 46 of 2022 concerning the principles of ASN neutrality provisions. So civil servants are prohibited from providing support to presidential or vice presidential candidates, regional head/deputy head candidates, DPR member candidates, DPD member candidates or DPRD member candidates.
"We have made an ASN neutrality integrity pact. Soon the stages of the election process will begin. When we have made these guidelines, and later if there are those who still (do not maintain neutrality) that is not our business," he said.
Sutiaji asked all parties, including the media, to also conduct supervision. If there is any suspicion of a violation of one of these ASN codes of ethics, it is expected to be reported to the Malang City Government. Sutiaji also instructed that each regional apparatus leader should develop their ranks in stages and periodically.
The bespectacled man said that if a violation of ASN neutrality is found, sanctions or disciplinary punishments will be imposed as per the provisions. "One of the sanctions could be a delay in promotion. We are vigilant, don't let any ASN commit violations," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Malang City Human Resources Development and Personnel Agency (BKPSDM), Drs. Totok Kasianto said that this activity was carried out in order to provide an understanding of the neutrality of ASN in the Malang City Government environment which must be adhered to by all ASN.
"This activity is also an early prevention effort against activities that can result in violations of ASN neutrality in the implementation of the Election. The hope is to be able to realize ASN with integrity, professionalism, and free from political intervention," explained Totok.
The socialization participants consisting of regional apparatus heads, section heads, sub-district heads, village heads, kindergarten, elementary, junior high school principal coordinators, and school supervisors marked their commitment to maintaining neutrality by signing an integrity pact. Previously, the participants also swore an integrity pact led by the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Malang City, Erik Setyo Santoso, ST., MT. (ari/yon)
