Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – Head of the Malang City Education and Culture Office (Disdikbud) Suwarjana, SE, MM became a speaker on the second day of the Education and Training for Strengthening the Implementation of the Independent Curriculum (IKM) held by the Indonesian Kindergarten Teachers Association (IGTKI) - PGRI Blimbing District at the Malang Creative Center (MCC) building, Malang City, Tuesday (23/5/2023).
Head of the Malang City Education and Culture Office, Suwarjana, said that this activity is very good for preparing human resources (HR) for educators who handle students, especially at the kindergarten level.
"It's not easy to handle kindergarten-aged children. We appreciate the kindergarten teachers whose role is extraordinary in educating children," explained Suwarjana, Tuesday (23/5/2023)

Suwarjana said that educating children at kindergarten level requires special handling because they usually cannot be separated from their parents, so special attention is needed so that they are willing to be cared for and handled by teachers.
"Kindergarten teachers must be sincere in educating and serving students. If they are not sincere, children certainly will not want to learn. The role of kindergarten teachers is extraordinary. The little child knows through feelings," he said.
Thanks to the role of teachers who are committed to the world of education, Suwarjana said the education process in Malang City can run well according to the expectations of the community.
Meanwhile, the Head of IGTKI Blimbing District, Dra. Hj. Sustiari explained that on the second day of the implementation of this activity, the theoretical material was replaced with a practical session. This was done so that kindergarten teachers in Blimbing District could better understand the implementation of IKM.
"Although kindergarten teachers have understood this concept (IKM), through this activity we hope that they can become more proficient and confident in implementing IKM," said Sustiari.
In the Independent Curriculum, students have the freedom to choose subjects according to their talents and interests. Especially for kindergarten students, teachers must have extra understanding of IKM because they interact directly with early childhood children. (cah/yon)
