Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The efforts of the Cooperatives, Industry and Trade Service (Diskopindag) of Malang City to advance the world of cooperatives in Malang City received full support from the Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (UKM) Service of East Java Province. One form of this support was the presence of the Head of the East Java Cooperatives and UKM Service, Dr. Andromeda Qomariah, MM in the cooperative institutional strengthening activity held by the Malang City Diskopindag at the Montana Hotel, Wednesday (24/5/2023).
On this occasion, Andromeda provided motivation to the cooperative administrators in Malang City so that cooperatives in Malang City have good institutions so that they can develop rapidly like cooperatives in developed countries.
Andromeda explained that cooperative institutions should be managed professionally. If at the regional level the cooperatives are good, it is expected to be able to compete globally with other nations.
"Let's look at cooperative institutions abroad, such as in Japan, Paris, and America. They are extraordinary institutions," Andromeda explained.
The progress of cooperatives abroad is inseparable from the professionalism in building cooperatives, including in the institutional aspect. Cooperatives abroad have many members. Although in Indonesia the establishment of a cooperative is possible even with only nine members, it is done solely to facilitate the establishment process.
However, if various human resources are combined, then it will be something extraordinary. There are many examples of cooperatives in the world, both in the savings and loan sector, the agricultural sector, and other sectors.
For example, one of them is ACE, a cooperative in the United States that currently has more than 5.000 outlets. Therefore, Andromeda always advises not to underestimate a cooperative business entity that has a legal entity.
In fact, in large countries, this cooperative legal entity becomes an extraordinary force. This is because there is a combination of various human resources in it.
"There are information technology experts involved, there are banking experts involved. They come together to form a superior cooperative," Andromeda concluded. (cah/yon)
