Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The implementation of Malang 109, which is a stage for togetherness of the Malang youth, received appreciation and full support from the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji. Event which will be held in Kayutangan Heritage on Sunday (28/05/2023) it is also hoped that it can boost the economic pulse.
Sutiaji expressed his hope that event Malang 109 can be attended by the community and tourists from Malang Raya, East Java, National, and International. If that happens and many people attend, it will certainly bring a tremendous economic impact.
"If the economy is running with a large number of visitors coming, there will be money circulation," said Sutiaji on Friday (26/05/2023).
From Malang 109, it is also expected to be an event to introduce the identity of Malang City to the wider community. The hope is that this event can encourage economic growth in Kayutangan Heritage which relies heavily on the tourism sector.
Tourist visits during the implementation of Malang 109 are expected to increase compared to the implementation of Malang 108 a year ago, where the activity was visited by 20.000 spectators.
Moreover, the implementation of Malang 109 currently coincides with the implementation of Malang City as the host of the Regional Community Festival (Forda) which will take place in Malang City on May 27-30, 2023.
Head of the Youth, Sports and Tourism Agency (Disporapar) of Malang City, Baihaqi S.Pd., SE, M.Si., stated that Disporapar is ready to fully support the implementation of Malang 109. To pamper visitors, Disporapar has prepared MSMEs under the guidance of Disporapar of Malang City to display their best products.
"Disporapar also has event Forda 2023 which is attended by participants from various regions in East Java. In Forda, it will involve 698 athletes with a total of 109 festival numbers," explained Baihaqi.
Baihaqi further revealed, with that number of athletes, of course there will be a contingent and supporters estimated to reach 10.000 to 15.000 people. This is an opportunity to participate in enlivening Malang 109, because the athletes and supporters of Forda 2023 will also be present at Malang 109.
The large number of participants, supporters, and families of the community who will appear at Forda will certainly have an impact on the number of visitors coming to Malang 109. The hope is that it can further boost the economic and tourism sectors that enter the city of Malang.
"If many tourists come to Malang City, of course it will be a blessing for the people of Malang City, be it UMKM, hotels, restaurants, to stalls in this city. This is a good moment to work together to advance Malang City," said Baihaqi. (cah/arz)
