MCC Attracts Interest from Jack Ma's Company

Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The existence of the Malang Creative Center (MCC), which is the pride of the people of Malang, has increasingly attracted the interest of investors. One of the leading entrepreneurs from China, Jack Ma, is reportedly interested in coming to Malang City. This was stated by the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, on Friday (26/5/2023).

The Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji said that MCC is attracting investors to come to the city of Malang.

On this occasion, Sutiaji explained that Jack Ma's company, Alibaba, is interested in visiting Malang City. Currently, the Indonesian embassy to China has conducted a survey of the MCC Building.

"The Indonesian Ambassador to China has conducted a survey, and the hope is that Jack Ma and Alibaba will visit MCC," explained Sutiaji.

Sutiaji hopes that there will be cooperation between the Malang City Government and Jack Ma's company, so that it can mobilize creative economic actors in East Java to... go international. He hopes that envoys from the embassy can bridge this cooperation.

"We hope that the ambassador's envoy can bridge this cooperation and revive the creative economy in Indonesia. However, there is no certainty about the time, because it is currently still in the survey stage," said Sutiaji.

The MCC building itself was built by the Malang City Government in mid-2021 and completed in 2022. It is located on Jalan Ahmad Yani, Blimbing, Malang City.

Malang City Government also collaborates and invites creative economy actors (EKRAF) to work at MCC. This building is a place for various creative activities such as film screenings, book reviews, meetings of writers and entrepreneurs, and support for MSMEs.

MCC is also used by various communities to hold community empowerment activities. This building is also a meeting place for various professions to build businesses, both in the world of work, the business world, and the industrial world.

Moreover, MCC as a building that is the pride of the people of Malang is also equipped with various interesting facilities. This building has eight floors and is equipped with an exhibition space, cafe, co-working space, workshop space, theater, and others.

The MCC building was built to accommodate 17 sub-sectors of the creative economy, including film, architecture, photography, crafts, culinary, fine arts, product design, fashion, game applications, music, visual communication design, and publishing. (cah/arz)
