Malang (malangkota.go.id) – PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) has started implementing the 2023 Train Travel Chart (Gapeka) starting June 1, 2023, where one of the changes is several changes to the departure schedule of long-distance trains. In Daop 8 Surabaya, there are 11 long-distance trains that depart earlier.
Public Relations Manager of KAI Daop 8 Surabaya, Luqman Arif on Tuesday (30/05/2023) appealed to prospective customers to pay attention to the train departure schedule, especially trains that have experienced changes to departures earlier or earlier than before.
"Recheck your travel schedule because there are changes to the train departure schedule for Gapeka 2023 so you don't miss your train. Because starting June 1, there are a number of departure schedules that have changed or moved forward from the previous schedule," he said.

Luqman Arif added that during this transition period, all levels of Daop 8 Surabaya are ready for the change by preparing for the transition on May 31, 2023, as well as post officers in various work units.
The goal is for all aspects such as ticket services and train operations to run smoothly, safely, securely, and under control. In addition, this change in departure schedule certainly also has an impact on the train's travel time, which of course becomes shorter.
With the implementation of Gapeka 2023, in addition to changes in departure times, there is also an acceleration of train travel times. Lukman said, KAI Daop 8 Surabaya expressed gratitude because thanks to the cooperation between the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA), KAI, and related stakeholders, Gapeka 2023 can operate starting June 1, 2023.
"It is hoped that train customers will increase through various service improvements, such as shorter travel times, additional connections, number of train trips, and so on," concluded Luqman Arif.
