Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The efforts of Perumda Air Minum Tugu Tirta Malang City to overcome the limited supply of raw water received direct attention from the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) of Malang City. Directly, Commission B of the Malang City DPRD conducted an inspection of the Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM), Wednesday (31/05/23).

A group of council members came to the Perumda Tugu Tirta Head Office to see the readiness of SPAM 2 which is projected to increase the supply of services from Sawojajar to Buring and the surrounding area.
"We want to know directly how far the development of SPAM Sawojajar is. The sooner it is put into operation, the better the service to customers in areas that have often experienced service disruptions can be covered. Because there will be additional production discharge from optimizing SPAM," said Chairman of Commission B of the Malang City DPRD, Trio Agus Purwono, S.TP.
In the group, other members also participated, such as H. Imron, Arief Wahyudi, Eddy Widjanarko, Lookh Mahfudz, Jose Rizal Joesoef and Syabril Ulum.
After receiving an explanation from the Directors of Perumda Tugu Tirta and seeing the location directly, they learned that currently SPAM 2 is undergoing an accelerated filtration process so that the production quality is in accordance with the drinking water quality test standards regulated in the Minister of Health Regulation No. 492 of 2010.
"There is no problem with the water supply. Two drilled wells can produce a production capacity of around 40 liters per second. Only the filtration process must be carried out in several stages. We hope this process can be completed as soon as possible," Trio said.
Technical Director of Perumda Tugu Tirta, Ir. Ari Mukti MT also revealed that the optimization of SPAM 2 Sawojajar will significantly increase raw water production.
"We will accelerate this process so that the Sawojajar to Buring area and surrounding areas can be effectively covered. This is part of an effort to accelerate 100 percent drinking water services for the community," he said.
On that occasion, legislative members from Commission B also reviewed the location of the construction of the Bango SPAM Water Treatment Plant (WTP) in the Pandanwangi Village area, Blimbing District. This WTP project is a collaboration between the Malang City Government and Perum Jasa Tirta 1 and is planned to begin in the near future. (say/yon)
