Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – The concrete steps taken by the residents of Tasikmadu Village, Lowokwaru District, in reducing stunting rates are worthy of appreciation. Using self-help funds, residents together with several components, such as integrated health post cadres, the PKK movement team, nutritionists and health workers from the local health center, have joined forces by establishing the Tasikmadu Residents' Kitchen to Overcome Stunting or abbreviated as Dagadu Anting at the Tasikmadu Village office.

Facilitated by the sub-district, every Tuesday residents provide nutritious food assistance to residents who have children who are vulnerable to stunting. At the moment in the hall of the Tasikmadu Sub-district Office, Tuesday (6/6/2023), officers also measured the child's height, weight, provided nutritional consultations and checked the child's blood hemoglobin levels.
On the sidelines of the event, Tasikmadu Village Head Adhi Kristanto admitted his admiration. He explained that there were 49 toddlers who were vulnerable to stunting and 13 of them were priorities. "This assistance or intervention will be carried out for three months. Such as assistance by nutritionists, officers from the health center and provision of nutritious food assistance," he explained.
"So various components of the community prepared everything on Monday. They cooked various nutritious ready-to-eat foods at one of the residents' homes. The next day, the food along with seven eggs was given to children who were vulnerable to stunting," Adhi explained.
"Usually, there are many causes for children who are potentially stunted. For example, because of child rearing patterns and some are from underprivileged families. So the interventions are also varied, and later there will be from nutritionists, doctors and posyandu cadres," he explained.
Adhi also thanked the residents and related elements and invited various parties to care and help reduce stunting rates so that in the future a bright future generation will be born.
Winda Kusumawardhani, whose child is at risk of stunting, said she is very happy with this program. She hopes that in the future her child's weight, who is now 22 months old, will soon be stable or normal, so that she is not classified as stunted.
"For this program, I am very helped, because if for example outside there are still costs. I mean there are costs incurred to examine my child. I would like to thank all parties and the Head of Tasikmadu Village," he concluded. (say/yon)
