Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – The life expectancy of the elderly in Malang City continues to increase. This is inseparable from the empowerment and facilitation programs of the government and other related parties, such as banking, hospitals and the private sector. The government is always there to help the elderly so that the life expectancy in Malang City currently reaches 73 years.

This was conveyed by the Deputy Mayor of Malang, Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko when attending the commemoration of National Elderly Day (HLUN) at the Malang Creative Center (MCC) Building, Malang City, Tuesday (6/6/2023). In addition to many parties who care about the elderly, Malang City also currently has a special school for the elderly.
"So that in the future it is expected that these elderly people will be more productive, healthy, independent and useful for others. Various public facilities, such as in offices, public transportation and public spaces, will continue to be improved in the future," added the man who is also the Head of the Malang City Elderly Committee.
The Deputy Mayor, often called Bung Edi, said that the various steps and programs will further strengthen the vision of Malang City as an elderly-friendly city. Likewise, the holding of various events, including today, is proof of the great appreciation for the elderly.
Furthermore, Bung Edi said, with various programs and activities, in the future the life expectancy of the elderly in Malang City will be even higher, namely at the age of 74 years or even 75 years. "To realize all of that, togetherness and collaboration with various parties are needed," he explained.
The Head of the Social Service, Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control and Family Planning (Dinsos-P3AP2KB) of Malang City, Donny Sandito W., S.STP, M.Si, said the same thing. He said that the lives of these elderly people continue to show an improving trend. Various programs will continue to be rolled out in the future so that they are even better.
At this moment, a number of parties, such as cadres, figures, hospitals and other groups who contribute to the elderly received awards from the Dinsos P3AP2KB of Malang City, so that in the future it is hoped that more parties will care for these elderly. (say/yon)
