Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Manpower, Investment and Integrated One-Stop Service Office (Disnaker PMPTSP) of Malang City held Counseling and Job Guidance for Job Seekers at Hotel Montana 1 Malang City, Wednesday (7/6/2023). This activity was attended by 90 SMK alumni who had registered at the Special Job Exchange (BKK).

Arif Tri Sastyawan, S.STP, M.Si said that based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in December 2022, the open unemployment rate (TPT) in Malang City was 7,66%. Meanwhile, the number of workers in Malang City is 452.836 people consisting of 418.158 working people and 34.678 unemployed people.
Arif said that unemployment problems are often caused by an imbalance between the need for workers and the availability of job seekers, both in terms of quantity and quality. This problem often becomes an obstacle in the process of placing workers.
"Unemployment can also be caused by the information gap between companies using labor and job seekers. Often, companies using labor have difficulty finding workers who match the qualifications and positions available. As a result, not all job seekers can fill the job vacancies offered," said Arif.
DisnakerPMPTSP is trying to reduce the unemployment rate, one of which is by improving the quality of human resources (HR) through job guidance counseling activities for job seekers. "Through this activity, we hope that job seekers can immediately get jobs that match their interests, talents, and competencies. Companies can also get professional, qualified workers who meet the job requirements needed," he continued.
It was stated that DisnakerPMPTSP has routinely held job guidance counseling for job seekers in order to create a workforce that is ready to use, skilled, disciplined, productive, and has a work ethic according to industry needs. Not only that, various job training according to job market needs and independent entrepreneurship training are also carried out to increase the competitiveness of job seekers.
"This is our effort to create high-quality prospective workers who will certainly be able to compete in the job market and have independent entrepreneurial abilities. This will have a positive impact on reducing unemployment rates by absorbing them in the workforce or even later by becoming independent entrepreneurs they will be able to create new business fields that can absorb workers," he concluded.
