MWCNU Sukun District held a halalbihalal and provided assistance to orphans in the Sukun District Office Hall

The Head of Tanfidziyah MWCNU Sukun, KH. Ali Mahsun, S.HI revealed that this halalbihalal was indeed carried out a little late considering the Eid al-Fitr moment that had passed. Even so, he hopes that it will not reduce the wisdom of the meaning of halalbihalal itself.

"This halalbihalal has no time limit. Due to being busy with one thing or another, it can only be done now," he explained.

On this occasion, Kiai Ali conveyed several programs that MWC NU Sukun has successfully carried out since last Ramadan, which are expected to be able to help the welfare of the community, not only for NU members but also the general public at large.

"Together with the Mayor of Malang, we conducted a tour, tarawih tour, which also included social activities in collaboration with the NU health service institution and the NU Zakat, Infaq and Shodaqoh Collection Institution (Lazisnu)," he said.

He added that the social activities carried out during the month of Ramadan will hopefully continue in the future. One thing that he said was urgent and needed special attention was the Maarif NU educational institution. According to him, there are still many NU members who have not received their formal education rights proportionally.

"Hopefully, later the management can work together well with Lazisnu or other institutions so that there will be no residents who fail to get an education," he said.

Responding to this, Sukun Sub-district Head, I Ketut Widi E. Wirawan, S.Sos, who was present representing the Mayor of Malang, said that the Malang City Government (Pemkot) is ready to be present and provide educational services for residents of Sukun Sub-district and Malang City in general.

"We hope that all residents of Sukun District can enjoy and participate in basic education starting from kindergarten, elementary school, to junior high school levels which are indeed the authority of the Malang City Government," he explained.

Widi advised the community not to hesitate to report if they know of children who are not receiving their right to a proper education.

"Please provide us with information. Don't let there be no information to the government so that there are children whose education is neglected, and efforts are made to minimize children who work at an early age," he said.

In this activity, Widi also appreciated the social assistance provided by MWCNU Sukun to orphans in Sukun District as well as free health services that can be utilized by residents.

"Many activities that are beneficial to the community have been carried out by MWCNU Sukun. We are very grateful, and we hope that activities like this can continue to be carried out sustainably," he concluded. (iu/yon)
