The Fun of Learning to String in Kayutangan Heritage Village

Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Learning to string or weave yarn is one of the fun alternative activities to fill the weekend that is a shame to miss when visiting Kampoeng Heritage Kajoetangan.

'Cheerful Sunday, Stringing Together with Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)'

This learning activity to string various accessories such as rings, bracelets and necklaces was initiated by a community and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) initiated by several young people in Malang City.

The activity, which was packaged in 'Cheerful Sunday, Weaving with business owners @flowwsunshine and @minddaze, Sunday (11/6/2023), began by inviting participants who would take part in the weaving workshop to walk around Kampoeng Heritage Kajoetangan.

Owner of @flowwsunshine, Husain, said that this activity aims to introduce a workshop on stringing beads which can be an alternative way to fill activities on Sundays.

"We chose the location in Kayutangan with the hope of further developing Kayutangan. Because currently Kayutangan is one of the interesting destinations to enjoy, including for walking tour activities (traveling around the Kayutangan Heritage area)," said Husein who was met in the middle of a group beading learning activity.

He further said that in addition to the general public who are interested in participating in the beading workshop, he also invited children who live in Kayutangan Village to join in learning together.

"We are cheerful together, having fun together, then we go around the Kayutangan Heritage Village. In addition to learning to string, we also invite the children here to better understand and comprehend the environment. The children here are really cheerful, easy to get along with and welcome us well," explained Husain.

Gina, a participant from Malang City who joined the beading learning, said that she first found out about this activity from Instagram social media. “It happened that there was no plan on Sunday, so I ended up joining this activity. I have beaded before, but this time I did various models like various accessories. It turned out to be fun because there were friends, we learned together,” said Gina enthusiastically.

When asked for his opinion about Kampung Kayutangan Heritage, he said that the area is clean. "Something new because I've never been here before. I only know the ones in other cities. This is the first time in Malang," he explained.

He hopes that in the future more people will visit Kayutangan Heritage Village. In addition, the Government is also expected to increasingly support MSMEs and communities, especially in Kayutangan Heritage Village, to jointly develop Malang City. (yul/yon)
