Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – The Indonesian Kebaya Gymnastics Community (SKI) of Malang City, whose members are women, has now begun to expand into business ventures. Offering a number of products, such as various drinks and snacks, this community is united to continue moving in economic empowerment.
These products come from a number of community members. Although considered a newcomer in the world of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), especially in Malang City, this community claims to be ready to enliven and compete with other MSME players.
SKI Coordinator for Malang City, Siti Romlah, said that her party will continue to encourage women to be able to have independent businesses so that they can strengthen the family economy.
"We will continue to learn and explore the potential of our members so that in the future what they do will produce proud results. In this early stage, we are not too focused on profits or large turnover. The most important thing now is that our various products are known to the public," explained the woman who is often called Rosa, Monday (12/6/2023).
Rosa added, if these products are known, they will be able to compete in the market. If it is realized well, it will automatically boost turnover and profits. "With enthusiasm and togetherness, we are optimistic that we can achieve what we are targeting, namely empowering women in strengthening the family economy and Malang City in general," she said.
This step was also appreciated by the Head of Diskopindag of Malang City, Eko Sri Yuliadi when contacted via his cellphone. Eko said that his party would support what the SKI community was doing because it was a positive step and would add to the wealth of UMKM actors in Malang City.
"Actually, this community is already quite well-known through the routine kebaya gymnastics activities that have been held so far. If this community expands into other fields, namely entrepreneurship, that would be great. If later on we need help or assistance, we are ready," concluded Eko. (say/yon)
