Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – Currently, the culinary sector is one of the creative industries that is quite promising. In addition to the culinary business, another sector that is in great demand is hairdressing. Seeing this opportunity, the Malang City Manpower, Investment and Integrated One-Stop Service Office (DisnakerPMPTSP) is trying to provide provisions for job seekers from Malang City to develop skills in these two fields.

A total of 70 job seekers from Malang City participated in the F TrainingFood & Beverage and 72 people participated in the Hairdressing Beauty Training organized by the Malang City Manpower and Transmigration Office at SMK Kartika IV-1 Malang, Monday (12/6/2023). The training was divided into two stages, namely the first stage from 12 to 17 June 2023, and the second from 19 to 24 June 2023.
Head of the Malang City Manpower and Transmigration Office, Arif Tri Sastyawan, said that this activity is an effort by the Malang City Government (Pemkot) to improve the skills, competence, and competitiveness of the community, especially the workforce.
"For those of us who want to do culinary business, we must look for unique, creative, and profitable food innovations. Because now many people do not only care about taste, but they like different, unique food. Therefore, we must be innovative so that our business can be profitable," he explained when opening the activity.
Arif also said that work in the field of hairdressing also provides promising opportunities. He said that currently people are very concerned about their appearance, including hair. The presence of hair stylists or hairdressers is very much needed, starting from haircuts, styling, coloring, and so on. So this business is one of the promising opportunities if supported by qualified skills.
"We hope this training is useful for all of you. It can be used as a provision for finding work or starting a business in the culinary or beauty sector which is currently increasingly popular. The ultimate goal will be to reduce unemployment and increase income and community welfare," concluded Arif. (ari/yon)
