Nanning, Guangxi (malangkota.go.id) – Continuing his visit to China, the Mayor of Malang, Sutiaji, not only visited the city of Beijing, he also went to Nanning City, Guangxi to explore tourism development and tourism and cultural promotion management at Guangxi Tourism Development; Tuesday (13/6).

Nanning is not as well-known as other big cities in mainland China, such as Shanghai, Beijing, and Guangzhou. Nanning is the capital of Guangxi Province, an autonomous region of the People's Republic of China (PRC). However, this city is one of the mainstay destinations for local and foreign tourists. Nanning offers the beauty of its city at night, unique city landscapes, culinary destinations, views of the Yongjiang River, and city parks.
According to Mayor Sutiaji, his visit to Nanning City was in order to study the development of tourism and culture that has been carried out by Guangxi Tourism Development Group. The company engaged in tourism investment and infrastructure has carried out various innovations to develop tourism in Nanning City. "We had the opportunity to come here to study the development of tourism that has been carried out in Nanning City; a city known as a green city and a water city," he said via video call with the Public Relations Department of Malang City.
Furthermore, the man who is often called Sam Sutiaji explained that many parks are tourist centers in Nanning City; this is in line with Malang City which also has many parks and city forests that are often tourist destinations. "This similarity is one of the main focuses of tourism development in Malang City; including event tourism which is the mainstay of tourism in our city," explained the bespectacled man.
He also added that Malang City as a tourism city has various destinations ranging from thematic villages, culinary tourism, heritage tourism, thematic park tourism, festivals, educational tourism and innovation. The attraction of cultural heritage buildings such as the icon of Malang City Hall also continues to be strengthened.
"The development of new destinations such as Kayutangan Heritage has become one of the tourism strategies. Kayutangan's magnetism is quite high, so that in the midst of current development it has attracted the interest of many people," he explained.
Based on the Regulation of the Mayor of Malang Number 34 of 2014 concerning the Master Plan for Regional Tourism Development which states that the tourism potential of Malang City must be fostered and developed to support regional development in general and tourism development in particular which does not only prioritize financial aspects, but also aspects of religion, culture, education, environment, peace and order and comfort; so that it is hoped that the development of tourism potential spread across Malang City will also be able to realize integration in the implementation of environmentally friendly tourism activities.
Finally, Sam Sutiaji hopes that his visit to Nanning City will also be able to provide strengthening of tourism development and tourism promotion management in Malang City through various innovations and preparation of supporting infrastructure, especially in various other tourism alternatives. "Considering that Malang City does not have natural tourism that can attract tourists; then we must continue to be creative in developing other tourism alternatives by involving academics, the business world, the media, and the financial industry as a hexahelix collaboration," concluded Sam Sutiaji.
