Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The success of thematic villages in Malang City is often an inspiration for other regions, not only in Indonesia but also abroad. As seen when the Malang City Government (Pemkot) received an official working visit from the Management Members of the Kota Kinabalu City Council (DBKK) Malaysia at the Malang City Hall Meeting Room, Tuesday (13/6/2023).

Assistant for Government and Public Welfare of the Regional Secretariat of Malang City Dr. Ida Ayu Made Wahyuni, SH, M.Si representing the Mayor of Malang expressed her gratitude for the visit of the Kota Kinabalu City Council, Malaysia to Malang City.
It was conveyed that this working visit was an honor for the Malang City Government and also all Malang City residents. "Welcome to Malang City, Bumi Arema, which is the second largest city in East Java Province," explained Ida, Tuesday (13/6/2023).
On this occasion, Ida explained that the vision of Malang City is towards a Dignified City. Dignity refers to a value of human dignity, which means nobility, so that with the vision of Malang City with Dignity, it is hoped that a noble situation, condition, order and character will be created for Malang City and all its people.
"Malang City also has Tri Bina Cipta, namely Malang City as a Student or Education City, Malang City as a Tourism City and Malang City as an Industrial City," explained Ida.
Ida further revealed that the Malang City Government is also intensively increasing the implementation of the development concept that adheres to the realization of The Future of Malang, which includes Malang City Heritage, Malang 4.0, Malang Creative, Malang Halal, Malang Service, and Malang Nyaman.
Currently, Malang City also continues to move to make various innovations, create and compete in order to increase competitiveness. With the hope that it can contribute to the progress of the region, especially as a Tourism City.
In addition, it was mentioned that the Malang City Government is also developing various alternative tourist destinations by forming thematic villages that can attract tourists. For example, the Colorful Village whose existence is motivated by the idea and concept of creating beauty in densely populated areas.
There is also a heritage tourism area, considering that Malang City has so many historical relics from the kingdom era to the colonial era. One of them that is already present in the midst of the Malang City community is the Kayutangan Heritage area.
Meanwhile, DBKK Steering Committee Chair Junainah Abbie expressed her interest in coming to Malang City because she saw how extraordinary Kampung Warna Warni is. A village on the edge of a densely populated river but can be transformed in such a way that it looks beautiful.
“We deliberately came to Malang City to study the Colorful Village. "We hope that after returning from Malang City we can adopt what is in Kampung Warna Warni to apply it to Kota Kinabalu," said Junainah. (cah/yon).
