Perumda Tunas Cheap Market Present When Basic Necessities Prices Are Creeping Up

Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – As the prices of various necessities climb, Perumda Tugu Aneka Usaha (Tunas) Malang City is present in the midst of the community. Through the Tunas Mobile Sembako program, this BUMD owned by the Malang City Government sells a number of daily necessities such as rice, cooking oil, sugar and eggs present in the yard of the Bakalan Krajan Village Office, Sukun District, Malang City, Wednesday (14/6/2023).

Residents flock to the cheap market held by Perumda Tunas

Carrying the theme 'Quality Basic Necessities at the Cheapest Price' Perumda Tunas sells a number of basic necessities below market prices. Like eggs that are sold in the market at a price of Rp28-30 thousand, in this place are sold for Rp27 thousand, one liter of cooking oil, which is sold outside for Rp16-17 thousand, in this cheap market is sold for Rp14.500.

Regarding this, the Head of Perumda Tunas, Dodot Tri Widodo said that his party is here to provide solutions and ease the burden on the community in meeting their daily needs at low prices. "We sell various basic necessities according to the Highest Retail Price (HET) and only take a profit of around Rp100 on each commodity we sell," he explained.

"One of the triggers that makes the price of these necessities creep up is because the distribution chain is quite long. Goods from the factory go down or are bought by distributors, then to agents before then to grocery stores, which are finally bought by the public. This is not the case with us, and we buy goods directly from the factory, thus cutting two to three distribution chains," he explained.

Goods from the factory, he said, are very unlikely to be able to reach the community directly, because the amount of purchase cannot be in small quantities. "For example, cooking oil, we buy one truck, and we sell it directly to the community, so we can sell it at a low price," said Dodot.

He further said that this cheap market will later target 57 sub-districts in Malang City. In the future, Perumda Tunas will also collaborate with grocery stores or UMKM actors to distribute these basic necessities to the community so that prices do not soar. "Through this step, we hope to be able to reduce the price of necessities so that the community is not worried," concluded Dodot. (say/yon)
