Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – As an effort to strengthen the tourism sector and encourage the growth of the creative economy, the Malang City Government (Pemkot) through the Malang City Youth, Sports and Tourism Service (Disporapar) held event Creative Zone Park (Tazokraf) 2023 at Merdeka Square, Malang City, Saturday (17/6/2023).
Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji conveyed this as a real manifestation that the government must be present in the midst of society by continuing to strengthen various sectors with the goal of increasing the welfare of the people of Malang City, so that the tagline of Malang City for Indonesia and the World can be realized.
"The achievement of Covid-19 control is an extraordinary collaboration from all parties, including all of you. We express our gratitude, hopefully in the future this collaboration will continue to be strengthened," said Mayor Sutiaji to all the people of Malang City who were present.
He further revealed that the economic growth of Malang City in 2022 was measured to reach 6,32 percent. This figure even exceeds the growth before the pandemic and is the highest record in the last decade. The Mayor of Malang said that the achievement of this economic growth was the result of collaboration in economic recovery from all elements.
"The government must be present in the midst of society. With this event, it is hoped that the mobilization of people coming to the city (Malang) will increase. When the goal is that our welfare is getting better, we will continue to strengthen and make improvements. So that the open unemployment rate will decrease, the poverty rate will decrease, and the economy will increase," said the bespectacled man.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Malang City Disporapar, Baihaqi S.Pd., SE, M.Si., said that Tazokraf 2023, which carries the theme MASFEST "Malang Short Film Festival", is the first short film screening in Malang City.
The goal is to facilitate, inspire and excite local filmmakers in Malang to be more competitive in the national film scene. In addition, it is also an invitation to make the park one of the creative activity places for the people of Malang City.
"Malang City is known as a Creative City. In accordance with the second mission of Malang City, namely to realize a productive and competitive city, based on a creative economy, sustainability and integration. This activity provides a place for creators and proves that the children of Malang City are creative," explained Baihaqi.
Not only short film screenings, in this event there are also several interactive & creative activities by the community. Such as making ceramics or Pottery Class by @lokakaryans, learning to paint by @pot.kebon, UMKM booths that present authentic Malang snacks, music performances, fountain and lighting shows and fireworks displays.
"This activity screens films by students and filmmakers from Malang City as a collaboration and to support filmmakers from Malang City to soar to the national and international scene. In addition, there is also a patrol art performance which is the champion of the Modern Patrol Music Festival which was held previously and others," he concluded. (yul/yon)
