Conducting Inspection, Diskopindag Finds Violations in Use of 3kg LPG

Malang (malangkota.go.id) – Some time ago, the Malang City Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) conducted an inspection of the availability of 3kg LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas/Elpiji) to several agents. This was in response to news of the scarcity of 3kg LPG, but the results showed that there was no problem with its availability. Regarding this, the Malang City Government (Pemkot) conducted another inspection, Tuesday (20/6/2023).

The Malang City Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) conducted an inspection of the availability of 3kg LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas/Elpiji) at several agents.

This time through the Cooperatives, Industry, and Trade Service (Diskopindag) the inspection targeted a number of businesses. In this context, business actors with a turnover of at least one million rupiah per day are required to use 5kg LPG and not 3kg or subsidized LPG. From the inspection carried out randomly, three business actors were found in the Blimbing and Klojen Districts who were still using 3kg LPG.

Responding to this, the Manager of Consumer and Producer Mediation in the Trade Sector, Diskopindag of Malang City, Muhammad Saifudin, said that currently the restaurant is still being given a warning. Then, in the future if another inspection is carried out and it is still found, then it will be immediately exchanged for a 5,5kg brightgass LPG gas cylinder.

"If we had inspected the previous ones, we immediately exchanged them, so two 3kg cylinders were replaced with one 5,5kg cylinder," said Saifudin.

When asked about supervision from Diskopindag to business premises that still use 3kg LPG gas, it will propose stricter supervision measures. Moreover, in the use of 3kg LPG gas cylinders in business premises.

"So later we will provide input to our leaders, maybe we can conduct spot checks several times a month, we will report this first so that later the leaders can decide whether we will routinely carry out monitoring," he explained.

Furthermore, regarding the availability of 3kg LPG gas in Malang City, it is currently considered sufficient. Regarding the scarcity that occurred, according to him, it was not at the Pertamina agent, but at the LPG gas cylinder retailer.

"Actually, according to Pertamina, it is enough, because the agents continue to have them. Yes, the indication is that the practices at the business people's place are causing the shortage. Maybe later we will conduct supervision again, because we are only limited to supervision and warnings, finally we will exchange gas cylinders directly on the spot," explained Saifudin. (say/yon)
