Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Deputy Mayor of Malang Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko attended the National Working Meeting (Rakernas) of the Malang City Association Experiential Learning Indonesia (AELI) which was held at the Malang Creative Center (MCC) Building, Malang City, Monday (20/6/2023).

The Deputy Mayor of Malang, often called Bung Edi, expressed his appreciation for the holding of the AELI National Working Meeting in Malang City. AELI is a forum that houses several institutions that are activists of alternative education activities based on the outdoors with the main approach of the experiential learning method.
"The AELI National Working Meeting was held in East Java with AELI management participants from 16 provinces attending, and Malang City was chosen as the location for this activity," explained Bung Edi.
It is expected that through this activity, as a direct actor in the tourism sector, community education activities can be achieved. Learning activities related to human resources (HR) are the main focus. "This is very important so that there is a common understanding and understanding between AELI and the government in strengthening the tourism sector, for example," he said.
In order to strengthen the values of nationalism and love for the environment, this can be done together. Because Aeli directly interacts with participants or students in this activity, this Rakernas is very important. "Especially if it is associated with Malang City as a tourist city, then this is closely related to how Malang City becomes a tourist destination and part of our goals," he explained.
This activity is fully supported by the Malang City Government, including the MCC and Macito facilities to help make AELI activities in Malang City a success. It is hoped that this activity will not be the last activity, but will continue with various other activities. "This is part of the journey to strengthen AELI, the tourism sector, and most importantly, to strengthen our human resources," explained Bung Edi.
He added that AELI participants who come from all over Indonesia, after returning from Malang City, will share their experiences in their respective regions, so that Malang City can be known not only by those who are studying, but also by tourism actors.
The chairman of the AELI DPP, Nur Fahmi, stated that during the two days in Malang City, AELI will prepare a work program for one year. This work program is the result of the mandate of the AELI National Conference in Magelang in 2022.
"The program is focused on developing the capacity of AELI members, consisting of institutions and individuals. AELI will focus on developing the capacity of institutions so that they can serve the community well, because basically activities such as capacity building, team building, outboundand outing is AELI's working area," said Fahmi.
