Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – The launch of Financial Literacy and Capital Market Inclusion held at the Islamic University of Malang, Wednesday (21/6/2023) in Malang City was enthusiastically welcomed by the Mayor of Malang Drs. H. Sutiaji

In addition to the Mayor of Malang, present on this occasion were the Chancellor of Unisma Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri, M.Sc., Head of the Malang City OJK Sugiarto Kasmuri, and the President Director of BEI Imam Rachman. This event was also attended by around 1.500 Muslim NU members from Malang City and Malang Regency.
Malang Mayor Sutiaji stated that the government will always play an active role in educating the public regarding capital market literacy and inclusion, in collaboration with BEI and OJK. This activity is part of an effort to provide the public with an understanding of economic growth, financial inclusion, and how it relates to the life cycle and economic turnover in Indonesia, especially in Malang City.
"The hope is that the state can provide support when our brothers and sisters are trapped by loan sharks, tempting promotions, or trapped in fraudulent investments. These mistakes are our responsibility. Therefore, continuous education is needed so that the community is no longer easily deceived," explained Sutiaji on Wednesday, June 21, 2023.
Currently, the real economic sector is experiencing very rapid development. If in the past, transactions were made using cash, now it is no longer dominant. In the past, loans were made through individuals with certain collateral, but now online loans are increasingly widespread.
The mechanism of the capital market, shareholders, and the way that people should do it in the past was very complicated. Currently, unfortunately, many tutorials are done by irresponsible parties and turn out to be misleading. The same thing happens with online loans which are now very numerous.
"Thank you for the presence of Muslimat who have been more involved in this matter. In the past, the stock exchange was considered only for the elite, but now almost everyone can access it," said Sutiaji.
Unisma Rector, Prof. Masykuri, stated that the role of mothers in providing education is always extraordinary and cannot be doubted. Therefore, with literacy activities involving mothers, it is hoped that the results will be even more impressive, because mothers will definitely pass on their knowledge to their families and the surrounding environment.
"Thank you for this educational activity related to financial literacy. Mothers are the starting point in creating a family based on religious values and harmony," explained Masykuri. (cah/yon)
