Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – A 4th grade elementary school student in Malang City bought a sacrificial goat on Eid al-Adha from his school pocket money savings. The sacrificial goat was then distributed to the Al-Hidayah Mosque, Pandanwangi, Blimbing, Malang City.

The boy is Muhammad Izzuddin (10), a resident of Jalan Laksda Adi Sucipto, Malang City. The third son of the couple Rahmad Eko Firmansyah and Anis Nooryani admitted that he wanted to buy a goat from the money he had saved for a long time.

Every day, the boy who is usually called Muiz sets aside Rp5.000 from his daily pocket money of Rp10 to save. In fact, to realize his wish to be able to buy a sacrificial goat on Eid al-Adha, sometimes he is willing to not buy snacks at school. Apart from having brought food from home, he is also a child who rarely buys snacks at school.

Muiz said that his daily savings are always entrusted to his parents. "Every day I save half of my Rp5 school allowance to buy goats for Eid al-Adha," he said, Friday (30/6/2023).

Muiz, who is currently studying at an Islamic elementary school in Sidoarjo, explained that his parents had trained him to save since he was in the first grade of elementary school, until his savings had accumulated. "The savings have reached Rp1 million, I asked my mother to buy a big goat to take to the mosque," he said.

From the accumulated savings, he was finally invited to buy a goat for IDR 3,5 million, and the goat was immediately named Muiz and then handed over to the Al-Hidayah Mosque, Pandanwangi, Malang City. "The goat has been handed over to the takmir of the Al-Hidayah Mosque," added Muiz's parent, Anis Nooryani.

Anis confirmed that her son has been saving since the 1st grade of elementary school until now. Since long ago, her son has aspired to save and be able to buy sacrificial animals from his own savings.

"My son has been saving for a long time, yes, his wish was since Eid al-Adha to buy a goat from his savings," he said.

However, as a parent, he is grateful that his child, who is still young, can share during the celebration of Eid al-Adha. Muiz's only wish at that time was to share sacrificial meat with the community during Eid al-Adha. "Alhamdulillah, he is still young and can have the intention to worship sacrifice," concluded Anis.

Meanwhile, one of the caretakers of Al-Hidayah Mosque, Ali Mahrus confirmed that Muiz had indeed handed over a goat. In fact, after the handover, Muiz was also given a receipt card from the mosque caretaker.

"Yes, it's true, the committee has received a goat from an elementary school student named Muhammad Izzudin. We have received the goat and we have also given a handover card," said Ali Mahrus.

On this Eid al-Adha, Al-Hidayah Pandanwangi Mosque slaughtered 2 cows and 18 goats as sacrificial animals. The slaughtering of the cows and goats was carried out according to Islamic law, and was also witnessed by the community and the people who made the sacrifice. (say/yon)
