Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Malang City recorded a monthly inflation rate of 0,07 percent. This inflation rate is the lowest in East Java.

Furthermore, in the Official Statistics News (BRS), Head of Statistics and Distribution Section of BPS Malang City, Dwi Handayani Prasetyowati said that East Java's monthly inflation was calculated at 0,10 percent and nationally at 0,14 percent. For annual inflation or year on year Malang City was recorded at 3,65 percent.
Several commodities that contributed to inflation in Malang City during June 2023 were increases in air transportation fares, broiler chicken, cayenne pepper, long beans, garlic, broiler chicken eggs, branded cooking oil, cars, pears, and bath soap.
"The food component in June had monthly inflation of 0,5 percent, an increase compared to the previous month which experienced deflation of 1,26 percent. This increase was driven by the increase in the price of food ingredients, namely cayenne pepper, chicken eggs, and garlic," said Dwi, Monday (3/7/2023).
Meanwhile, BPS also noted that commodities that contributed to deflation were gasoline, rice, shallots, gold jewelry, preserved tuna, bean sprouts, green mustard greens, diesel, fresh shrimp and red chilies.
"For the energy component in June, it was recorded to have experienced deflation of 0,90 percent lower than the previous month which experienced inflation of 0,02 percent. This is because the government has adjusted fuel prices, several types of fuel have experienced a price decrease," he concluded. (ari/yon)
