Malang (malangkota.go.id) – In the past few days, the ranks of the Malang City Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) together with the Malang City Government, including from Diskopindag and traders from Pasar Besar are holding a meeting regarding the revitalization plan for Pasar Besar. The reason is that until now there are still several traders who refuse, so in this case the legislative and executive parties provide an explanation.
Head of the Malang City Trade and Industry Office, Eko Sri Yuliadi, said that currently the administrative process and collection of documents for the Pasar Besar at the Indonesian Ministry of Trade has been completed, so that the application for revitalization funds will be continued to the Indonesian Ministry of PUPR with a budget of around IDR 400 billion allocated for the revitalization of the Pasar Besar.
"At the Ministry of Trade, matters such as document requirements and administration have been completed. This just needs to go to the PUPR Ministry. For development budgets above IDR 11 billion, it is within the scope of the PUPR Ministry," explained Eko, Tuesday (4/7/2023).
He added, with a budget of around Rp400 billion more because as is known the condition of Pasar Besar is very concerning. Eko said, although there was rejection from several traders, the condition of the Pasar Besar building was indeed concerning, especially in the current extreme weather season. His party also encouraged the PUPR Ministry to accelerate the finalization process.
"So now the PUPR Ministry is just finalizing, because we have completed all the requirements. Maybe just the technical justification, after that the finalization. Probably this July," he added.
Regarding the scope of the repair, Eko stated that all aspects of the market will be repaired in the context of revitalization. However, the details of the repair will be determined after further analysis by the relevant parties.
Regarding the plan to use the APBD if the proposed revitalization funds are not accepted by the Central Government, Eko stated that the option has not been discussed in detail. However, if there are obstacles in submitting APBN funds for the revitalization of Pasar Besar, the Malang City Diskopindag will wait for instructions from the Mayor of Malang and coordinate with the Malang City DPRD to find the best solution.
