Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – 'One Bike, a Million Brothers', this is the spirit that continues to be echoed by the Indonesian Old Bicycle Community (KOSTI) throughout the 2023 National Brotherhood Onthel Festivities (SOWAN) in Malang City.

The event, which lasted for two days, from 8-9 July 2023, was able to present around 3.000 participants, namely vintage bicycle lovers throughout Indonesia. SOWAN 2023 was enlivened by an exhibition of vintage bicycles, an antique bazaar, a slow bicycle race, and various other entertainment. The peak today, Sunday (9/7/2023), was a bicycle carnival that crossed interesting spots in Malang City.
The Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji said that the activity held at the Belanegara Field was an event to foster friendship. "I really appreciate this activity. This builds not only a community, but more of a brotherhood. Thank you for making old bicycles a place to strengthen brotherhood," he said in his speech, Sunday (9/7/2023).
According to him, this old bicycle that has historical value must continue to be preserved and introduced to the younger generation. "We are currently experiencing a moral crisis, where they are less able to appreciate the services of their predecessors, less able to appreciate the work of people. So, from Malang we want to build solidarity so that everyone can appreciate history. Joining hands is a must for all of us," he continued.
In addition, it is hoped that national events such as SOWAN 2023 will become a tourist attraction in Malang City. Moreover, Malang City is also known to have a historical heritage that will certainly support the old-time style that is identical to this old bicycle community. (ari/yon)
