According to the bespectacled man, the attention of the regional government in this case the Malang City Government (Pemkot) and the central government is very great for the elderly group.
The man who is familiarly called Bung Edi gave an example, the allocation of the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) and the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) each year continues to increase significantly, so that the existence of the elderly continues to be empowered and productive. "From that, automatically the life span of the elderly will also be better," he explained.
Furthermore, Mr. Edi said that the attention of the Malang City Government for the elderly has been very good. As stated in the Smart City and Elderly Friendly City programs. For example, there are elderly schools, elderly musrenbang and elderly posyandu.
At this moment, the friendly man advised the elderly to help spread the importance of character education and the nation's noble values to the young. Such as strengthening the culture of mutual cooperation and tolerance so that this culture will not be eroded by modernization.
"You must have had a lot of ups and downs regarding the culture of this nation, and perhaps other nations do not have it. This culture is also one of the strengths of the Indonesian nation in maintaining the unity and integrity of the nation," said Bung Edi.
