Gading Kasri Disability Posyandu Provides the Best Services

Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Dozens of children with disabilities in Gading Kasri Village, Klojen District, Malang City, participated in the disability posyandu activity at the Gading Kasri Village Office, Tuesday (18/7/2023). This activity involved the Bareng Health Center and the Bhakti Luhur Foundation as therapy institutions.

Head of Bareng Health Center, Dinna Indarti, said that her party continues to encourage community participation to join the disability health post. Because according to her, the community can get a comprehensive service package, including nutrition and dental health without any additional costs.

"Puskesmas Bareng conducts weight and height checks to assess the obesity status of children. In addition, blood sugar checks are also carried out as part of a general health check. Then also regarding dental health problems, because sometimes this is less noticed," explained Dinna when met on the sidelines of her activities at the event.

In this disability posyandu service, Puskesmas Bareng also provides treatment and advice to parents regarding the steps that must be taken in dealing with their problems. However, according to him, the most important thing in providing services is to pay attention to the child's condition.

"In serving children with special needs, we work together with Bakti Luhur who has expertise in the field of therapy. The approach taken by them is also quite effective. The most important thing is to pay attention to the child's condition, so that there is no coercion in the service process," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of Gading Kasri Village, Rendra Kurnia Wardana, said that in terms of the budget provided by the Malang City Government for the disability posyandu, it is indeed limited, so that the implementation of the disability posyandu program has not been carried out massively.

"So this disability posyandu program comes from the budget provided by the Malang City Government for the lower level, namely the sub-district level, which we then translate through the APBD budget with what the needs are in the community. After we translate it in an applicative way, this is the form of the disability posyandu service," said Rendra.

In the future, Rendra hopes that this disability posyandu service can be provided once a month. However, it will be adjusted again to the existing budget. (say/yon)
