Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The quality of Green Open Space (RTH) as a public facility in the development program continues to be improved. RTH, especially in urban areas, has important functions, including those related to ecological, socio-cultural, and aesthetic aspects. The existence of RTH with existing supporting facilities greatly influences the comfort factor, beautifies the environment, and is able to stimulate the creativity and productivity of residents.
Head of the Malang City Environmental Service (DLH), Noer Rahman Wijaya, when met on Tuesday (18/7/2023) said that efforts to improve the quality and function of green open space in Malang City include arranging the Alun-Alun Merdeka area of Malang City.
"Merdeka Square is in the budgeting process. In the APBD there are activities related to the addition of lighting with a budget ceiling of Rp900 million. Now it is going through the selection process. So through the auction process, now the verification stage and waiting for the determination," he explained.
In addition, the Malang City Government is also carrying out a mentoring program, namely through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program from banks, which means that later it will make several improvisations at several points in the Merdeka Square.
"After conducting surveys and observations, this improvement is very necessary, because in some points such as the spots in the north, the lighting is very lacking. And one of our efforts is to add lighting and improve security so that the level of vulnerability can be minimized," he explained again.
He mentioned, for the work to be done include the arrangement of lighting and electrical networks in the Alun-alun Merdeka area of Malang City in accordance with the planning documents that have been made in the previous stage. (yul/yon)
