Stone (malangkota.go.id) – The series of the Kali Brantas Festival #2 began with the Petik Tirto Amerto ritual. The event, initiated by the Malang City Pokdarwis Forum, involved Malang City artists and took place at Sumber Brantas, Batu City, Friday (21/7/2023).
The Head of the Malang City Pokdarwis Forum, Isa Wahyudi, explained that Petik Tirto Amerto is a symbol of the start of the Brantas River Festival #2 by taking water directly from the zero point of the Brantas River at Sumber Brantas, Batu City.
"We hope that the Kali Brantas Festival #2 can run smoothly and bring blessings," said the man who is often called Ki Demang, Friday (21/7/2023).
The purpose of holding the Brantas River Festival #2 which is also held as part of the National River Day Commemoration series, said Ki Demang, is to remind people of the importance of river preservation. Because the Brantas River has a very important role for human life along its flow.
"Since the time of the kingdoms, starting from the Kanjuruhan Kingdom, Gajayana Kingdom, Singasari Kingdom, Majapahit Kingdom and until now, the Brantas River has always colored the lives of its citizens. This must continue to be preserved," he said.
From the Brantas River Festival #2 which will be held from 21-27 July 2023, the Malang City Pokdarwis wants to invite the public to preserve the river. Petik Tirto Amerto was deliberately carried out at the zero point of the Brantas River with traditional arts as an effort to preserve and preserve the nation's culture. Where every movement of the Indonesian nation is never free from the role and existence of the river.
After Petik Tirto Amerto, the Brantas River Festival #2 will also be continued with activities at six other points, namely Kenduren Kali Brantas in Dinoyo Ceramic Village, Larung Sesaji Labuh Batu Kali Brantas in Penanggungan Pottery Village, Clean My River Campaign in Klojen White Village, Brantas Kaliku Arema My Village Song in Arema Blue Village, Gugur Gunung Metri Kali Brantas in Tridi Kesatrian Village, Colorful Nyadran Kali Brantas in Jodipan Colorful Village, Nyuluh Kali Brantas Lanterns in Jodipan Lantern Village.
