Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji together with the Malang City Government staff again implemented the Sambang Warga program, this time visiting the Mulyorejo and Bandulan Villages, Sukun District, Friday (21/7/2023). Just like before, Mayor Sutiaji also held an interactive dialogue with residents in the two sub-districts at the western end of Malang City.
In the dialogue held at the Mulyorejo Village hall, Sutiaji listened to several aspirations of his residents. According to him, this is a positive trend with the interaction between residents and the ranks of the Malang City Government. He considered that this interaction greatly facilitates the resolution of problems that occur.
"Earlier, there were many inputs, requests that were outside of what was previously agreed upon at the Musrenbang. This does not mean that the community does not trust the Village Head or Sub-district Head. It's just that opportunities like this are easy. If a problem comes in, it can be resolved immediately. I think this is what we must continue to do," he said.
It was recorded that approximately nine aspirations of residents were successfully collected on this occasion. Starting from requests for drainage construction, handling of embankments, traffic flow engineering, to UMKM development.
One of the complaints that was immediately responded to was related to the infrastructure owned by the East Java Provincial Government. Sutiaji said that his party would try to coordinate with the relevant agencies in the province. This is because the authority to maintain the infrastructure is the authority of the Provincial Government. "We'll see first, if the complaint is on a provincial road, it can't be done directly. You have to get permission first," he said.
In addition, responding to other aspirations received from residents, the Mayor of Malang said he would further review whether the proposals and requests submitted by residents had been included in the Musrenbang or not. However, on this occasion he also directly forwarded the aspirations submitted by residents to the heads of related regional apparatuses who were also present at this Sambang Warga activity.
In addition to interactive dialogue with residents, in this Sambang Warga activity, Sutiaji also provided assistance from the National Zakat Agency (Baznas) to a number of elderly people. The residents who attended were also facilitated with free health services as well as administrative and population services that could be utilized directly on this occasion. (iu/yon)
