Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) through collaboration between the Cooperatives, Industry and Trade Service (Diskopindag), the Food Security and Agriculture Service (Dispangtan), and the Malang City PKK Team held the Malang Fashion and Food Festival in the Malang City Hall area, Saturday (22/7/2023).
The Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, said that in addition to commemorating the Agriculture Service Day, this series of activities is also an effort to promote Malang City to attract and increase tourist visits. In addition to presenting a variety of culinary and cultural specialties of Malang, this festival is also enlivened by a Local Food-Based Menu Creation Competition Non-Wheat Non-Rice and Arranging Table Decorations made from toga and kitchen spices as an effort to increase food security.
"Malang City is a tourist city that is famous for its culinary. How can we mix the potential that we have that brings this culinary uniqueness. So today we gather in order to commemorate the 51st Agricultural Krida Day, we strive together to present that it turns out that the wealth owned by Indonesia, especially Malang City, is extraordinary," explained the number one person in the Malang City Government.
He further revealed that events like this should be held more often so that many tourists come to Malang City, both domestic and foreign tourists. According to him, when tourists come to Malang City, of course there is a domino effect, namely the rotation and growth of the economy whose goal is how the welfare and per capita income of the community are strengthened.
The bespectacled man also hopes that through this activity, he can bring and spur economic growth that is significantly felt by the residents of Bumi Arema. In addition, in the framework of the Agriculture Krida Day, he hopes that through this activity, he can increase public awareness and cultivate a Diverse, Balanced and Safe (B2SA) food consumption pattern to support a healthy, active and productive life.
"Hopefully this will bring the uniqueness and innovation owned by the people of Malang City who are continuously growing. Including now the dishes that are being competed are not only focused on our staple food, rice. And we see the creativity of our friends is extraordinary. For that we would like to thank the community, their participation is truly extraordinary. Since 12 o'clock they have been flocking here.
