Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Positive appreciation was given by various parties for the implementation of the Journalist Competency Test (UKW) of the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) Malang Raya on July 21-23, 2023 at IKIP Budi Utomo, Malang City. One of those who gave appreciation was the Head of the Malang City Communication and Informatics Service (Kominfo), Muhammad Nur Widianto, S.Sos.
According to him, UKW is a necessity for every journalist in order to produce competent and professional reporters, especially when carrying out journalistic work. On the other hand, the challenges for journalists today are also quite large along with the development of information technology, especially social media.
The Head of the Malang City Communication and Information Service after attending the closing ceremony of the 51st PWI UKW at the Santika Hotel, Malang City, Sunday (23/7/2023) said that journalists are partners of the government, especially with the Malang City Government, so far their cooperation has been good.
The friendly man added that there has been a mutual symbiosis between journalists and the Malang City Government. "Government programs without publication or news from media colleagues are less than optimally received by the public," explained the man who is familiarly called Wiwid.
Therefore, Wiwid said that his party gave appreciation to PWI Malang Raya which has held UKW intensively so far. This is very positive and the Malang City Government, more specifically the Communication and Information Service will fully support such journalist education programs.
For information, UKW PWI Malang Raya this time was attended by 36 participants from various regions in East Java, such as Jakarta, South Sulawesi and East Nusa Tenggara. The next UKW will be held in December 2023 and the Malang City Government will also provide full support. (say/yon)
