Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Education and Culture Office (Disdikbud) held an activity to Improve the Quality of Educators and Education Personnel for Early Childhood Education (PAUD) at the Islamic Center (IC) Building, Malang City, Wednesday (2/8/2023).
Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji gave a keynote speech with the material 'Presenting Fun Early Childhood Education According to Children's Nature'. He said that the role of PAUD teachers in educating children at that golden age is very important. "Therefore, the abilities of educators must continue to be improved. Thank you for your extraordinary role in supporting the progress of education in Malang City," said Sutiaji in appreciation, Wednesday (2/8/2023).
On this occasion, PAUD teachers were invited to understand more deeply about the Merdeka Belajar curriculum. "Especially what must be considered is that early childhood is a golden age period, a phase when a child's brain will grow and develop rapidly so that any information is easily absorbed. At this time, children also like to imitate the behavior of people around them," he explained.
Therefore, he said that educators must provide good examples. "There should be no physical or verbal violence that can disturb the child's psychology," he advised.
He said, to support education at the PAUD level, the Malang City Government has proposed an increase in the honorarium for PAUD teachers. If currently the honorarium for PAUD teachers is IDR 600.000/month, in 2024 the honorarium for PAUD teachers in Malang City will be IDR 1 million/month. "The budget has been approved. To provide an honorarium for PAUD teachers in Malang City of IDR 1 million/month, the budget disbursed is around IDR 31 billion in 2024," said Sutiaji.
Not to forget, on this occasion, the Mayor of Malang expressed his gratitude for the dedication of all PAUD personnel in Malang City. "The struggle of PAUD teachers is extraordinary, carrying out the mandate to provide the best education for early childhood," he concluded. (cah/yon)
