Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – While attending the Grebeg Suro event in Kemantren Village, Bandungrejosari Village, Sukun District, Malang City, Sunday night (6/8/2023), Deputy Mayor of Malang Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko invited all levels of society to continue to preserve the arts and culture of ancestral heritage. Because, from a culture will be created strong harmony and unity.
The man who is familiarly called Bung Edi gave an example such as the wayang kulit performance that will be held, according to him it is the result of togetherness from the residents of Kemantren Raya. "Especially the young people as the heirs and the next generation of the nation who must maintain this culture," he said.
In the future, this nation needs a creative and competitive young generation to move towards a better national civilization. "A great nation is a nation that does not forget History, and arts and culture are part of the history of this nation," said Bung Edi.
"With culture, we can live side by side, so this becomes one of the great capitals to build the nation. Therefore, I really appreciate this Grebeg Suro event because it can create togetherness and harmony in society," added the bespectacled man.
Deputy Mayor Edi also hopes that events like this can be held routinely and involve more citizens. If a culture like this can be maintained and loved by all levels of society, it is hoped that Indonesian culture will also be loved by the world.
From that reflection, he gave an example of the many Japanese and Korean foods and films that are loved by the people of this Earth, especially Malang. "If other countries can do it, why can't we.
