Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Respecting diversity and freedom in practicing worship is a must for every religious person, because embracing a religion is the right of every individual and every citizen which is protected by law.

Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji visited Hindu religious figures and followers at Pura Marga Shirsa

This was emphasized by the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji when visiting Hindu figures and followers at the Marga Shirsa Temple, Jalan Pisang Candi Barat No. 80, Pisangcandi Village, Sukun District, Malang City, Thursday (10/8/2023).

The bespectacled man said that humans are social creatures, where in their lives they definitely need other people. So living in harmony and side by side with people of other religions is a must. "In the future, let's continue to strengthen this bond of brotherhood," he invited.

Mayor Sutiaji also said that religion is not rhetoric but behavior. So no matter how smart a person is in religious knowledge, but his actions do not show that he is a religious person, then he is no different from an ignorant person.

The number one person in the Malang City Government gave an example like the Red and White flag, red is like the will and white is goodness. Therefore, doing good is a reflection of religious people. "Basically, different is beautiful and beauty will not be realized if there is only one color," explained Sutiaji.

At this moment, Mayor Sutiaji also had a dialogue with dozens of Hindus regarding the services of the Malang City Government. Regarding the release of land for places of worship, it was also conveyed because this is proof that the state is present in the midst of society.

No less important, ahead of the commemoration of the 78th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence, the Malang City Government symbolically handed over the Red and White flag to Hindu figures as a realization of the success of the Movement to Distribute 10 Million Red and White Flags Throughout Indonesia.
