Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – Supporting the Government's efforts to accelerate the handling of stunting, residents of Bandungrejosari Village, Sukun District, Malang City have an innovation called Josuli Tumbangkan Bata. Activities for handling stunting are centered at the Bandungrejosari Village Health Post, Thursday (10/8).

Fatimah, a midwife in the Bandungrejosari Sub-district area, said that the Josuli Tumbangkan Bata innovation is an abbreviation of Bandungrejosari Cares for the Growth and Development of Babies and Toddlers. This is a community innovation in order to reduce stunting rates. "The community in the Bandungrejosari area cares about reducing stunting rates by providing assistance," explained Fatimah, Thursday (10/8/2023).
This is real evidence of the participation and involvement of residents in the stunting management program, so it is not only from the Health Center, from the sub-district, or in general from the government.
The aid was received by the Treasurer of the Healthy Village Working Group and then distributed to those entitled to receive it. "The aid was allocated to make ready-to-eat food that has high nutritional value to support the growth and development of toddlers," said Fatimah.
She revealed that this assistance was given to 23 participants and will then be given in stages every month until the stunting rate in Bandungrejosari is gone. In this activity, early examinations were also carried out on toddlers to see their health. "Toddlers' height, weight and health checks were measured. In one month, we will also monitor again whether the toddlers being handled have improved or not," explained Fatimah.
In addition, education is also provided to mothers, namely about good food processing so that it can support toddler nutrition. With good nutritional intake, it is hoped that toddlers can grow well without lacking anything. "Sometimes there are mothers of toddlers who do not know how to process good food, so it is important that on this occasion we also provide education," concluded Fatimah. (cah/yon)
