Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – After becoming the Inspector of the Commemoration Ceremony for the 78th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia at the Class I Malang Penitentiary (Lapas), the Mayor of Malang Drs. H. Sutiaji handed over 2.204 remissions to Correctional Inmates (WBP), Thursday (17/8/2023).

Malang Mayor Sutiaji said that this remission was given as an appreciation and reward from the Indonesian Government for WBP who have committed to following the technical implementation unit development programs for corrections properly and have fulfilled the substantive and administrative requirements in accordance with statutory provisions.
"Congratulations to the inmates who received remission. Hopefully this momentum will be a motivation to always behave well, become citizens who obey the rules and follow the coaching activities diligently and earnestly. The coaching program carried out in prison is a means to bring them closer to community life," said the Mayor of Malang.
For inmates who receive direct remission and are free, the bespectacled man also advised that the legal rules and norms that apply in society can be internalized, so that with this knowledge they can become provisions when returning to live in society.
"Start actively contributing to development to continue the struggle for life, living life and livelihood as citizens, children of the nation and members of society in their respective residential environments," said the number one person in the Malang City Government.
At the end of his speech, the Mayor of Malang conveyed congratulations from the Indonesian Minister of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham) to the WBP who received remission. (cah/yon)
