Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – As a government partner, the Malang City PKK Team is actively involved in development. One of the active roles of the Malang City PKK Team is in efforts to reduce stunting rates through various strategic programs, such as urban farming.
This was conveyed by the Chairperson of the Malang City PKK TP, Widayati Sutiaji, S.Sos, MM when giving a speech at the commemoration of the 51st PKK Unity Movement Day of Malang City at the Malang Creative Center, Malang City, Thursday (24/8/2023).
"TP PKK Malang City is present with the City Government, how to eliminate stunting in Malang City. And thank God it has been proven with our urban farming. We bring families in Malang City to become families with strong economy, strong health, and strong socially. The impact is that stunting in Malang City has decreased," explained Widayati.
The woman in hijab further explained that stunting is one of the priority issues both nationally and globally. That is why the Malang City Government and the Malang City PKK TP work hand in hand, collaborate and strive through various programs and innovations in building Malang City in handling priority issues, including strengthening the hexahelix policy to make this program a success.
"There are many programs that we have implemented, in the future I hope that all administrators of the Malang City PKK TP from the city to the sub-district level, all cadres will continue what we have instilled. Especially for reducing stunting in Malang City, how to make our families resilient economically, socially and health-wise," he explained.
The Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, who was also present at the 51st HKG PKK commemoration with the theme 'Moving Together Towards a Prosperous, Resilient Family to Realize a Growing Indonesia', expressed his appreciation for the active role and collaboration of TP PKK with the Malang City Government.
"Women are great, there is no success of men without a woman. A beautiful collaboration is the main factor. What is the program of the Malang City Government, fully supports the PKK program. For example, about stunting, who understands the needs of children, who accompany children, one of which is women, then combine how children enjoy eating, their nutrition is sufficient, their health. Those who know one of them are mothers," explained the number one person in the Malang City Government.
Sutiaji revealed that related to stunting data, there was also a lot of support from mothers. Because during the data collection, mothers played an active and skilled role so that one of them was the birth of the Samgempunbasa innovation. So the good collaboration between the city government and the PKK in this case also includes other components that have been established.
"Like today's PKK Unity Movement Day which collaborates with all components of women's organizations. Our journey forward, preserving what has been planted. Good values are able to adopt and adapt something new that has a value of benefit," she concluded. (yul/yon)
